Depends what part of France you're going to, im out in Oct also, that time of year you could expect 30c or heavy rains 🤷♂️
Mosquito coils 👍
Tigers and boilie cages in case of crayfish or poison char.
We went to abbey lakes last week and got are bait and food out there as all the people saying it wasn’t allowed, wish we had of had it now no checks and everyone else out there on the lakes had brought there own bait and food with them🤦🏻♂️👍
Do you have to do covid tests before you go and come back?
Shower stuff.. towel / wet wipes.. antihistamine.. plasters.. sudocreme. Painkiller tablets. Mozzi sticks and spray.. washing up bowel etc..
I brought a rechargeable mozzy killer from le clerc best thing ever, plenty of repellent and after bite, baby wipes, sun cream just incase, we took bait and got stopped both sides no problems so don't worry about that! I am out again 30th October myself. Tight lines
A book or two the nights are long
Plenty of end tackle if they have cats
Best advice is stick to what you know, and what you are good at. Which means all the tackle you need is stuff you are familiar with and know how to use properly.
I have seen so many people struggle because they pick a lake with conditions they are totally inexperienced in. Common mistakes are going to huge lakes, when they have never fished anything bigger than 6 acres before. Or a water where you need to fish 150 yards out, and they struggle to get over 80 yards, etc.
So, do what you do week in and week out. Perhaps the only other tweek I would make is step up your line and rigs. If you can, fish 18lb minimum main line, and bigger, stronger hooks.
Also, take spares. Two landing nets is essential, in case one breaks or rips. Plenty of spare leads, and warm waterproof clothing. People think it’s going to be much warmer and drier in France. But It often isn’t. Especially in the central regions. At night it can get very, very cold. And my god it can rain for days and days.
A dingy, there cryin out for them over there 😂🤣😂
Mosquito spray I was told by the lake owner when I was there the other week that the mosquitoes have come down early from Spain. And for the first few days I was bitten alive.
See one in my pond it waint be crawling back out 😉
That's otterly disgusting
Pretty easy put wire fencing up keep the lil shit out
By rights if it’s on your property and is causing damage to livestock you have the right to remove it by force , if it was my pond I’d be waiting with the .22 till it came back
Nasty things, all need shooting
Healthy pond 🤔🤔🤔😂😂
I’d shoot it
Got a bull x that might like to meet this 😂
Oh no! I bought some nature and some other nature consumed it, who would have thought?
Otter trust should be held responsible they've no idea the cause on the rivers over the next 20 years!!
And old school game keeper told me this method yrs ago. If they're in ya pond or lake set a fyke net to trap em, they will eventually drown , be careful of exposing of the carcass cos they are protected
Couple guard dogs?
Or do what farmers do. Use a donkey or 2
It's great having otters back but there should be a government loan scheme to help fisheries and small pond owners Otter proof their property.
Everyone knows otters and
Fish don't mix
Should never have been introduced back into the wild 🤬🤬🤬
Yh I get they eat the fish but it pisses me off bc it’s a natural thing they eat that it’s like saying to us we can’t eat meat or fish again so just get over it
so, a species native to this country is eating a species introduced by man for food originally . idiots on here saying shoot them etc just giving the antis ammo to go at angling. protect your fisheries and they wont bother you
They don't just eat fish for God sake they eat everything ducks geese theres no waterfowl left on our local pond due to these Apex predators they were never in danger but now they re endangering all kinds of species 😡
I like all animals!!! but some need to be killed to control there number s just like the fox much as I like the look of them their do a lot damage I should know iv add chicken s year s ago & the bugger killed all my 10 chicken s 😡 I would not mind if they just killed one to take but no thay kill as much as thay can so can store them 😡 but yes it's are duty to protect are life stock from such animals but still need to keep them under control 🤔

The lad is asking for advice why carnt you answer him properly???? Really fucks me off, Looking like this is another site I am going to leave
Geoff Bell agreed. Smart arsed twats should be removed!!!
Give the bailiff a call, ask him how it's been fishing, any tips, most successful baits etc.. they're usually helpful.
Water craft. Get to your peg have a good look for 30 min odd so if any fishing are rolling and fizzing. Find them. If on top zig it or if fizzing go bottom baits
Fished peg 7 last year, when I arrived nobody had caught owt on the lake after a few hours of trying all my bookies and pellets, I tried 2x sweet corn and ended up with 2x 15lb and a 25lb, everyone else blanked
Fish one rod down to your left margin and one to edge of the lillys (locked up). I've only ever fished peg 4 and caught everytime. However, always seen fish crash in front of peg 7. Solid bags. I've caught all my fish there on bottom freezer boilies size 18 dna bug and dna pbs wafter.
Yeah went a month and a half ago not easy fishing from where the accommodation is as there is so much weed u need to be 16 wraps plus to be hitting clear areas some much nicer spots the other end of the lake though did manage 5 fish out tho👍

Hunts corner 10 pegs u get about an acre to yourself to fish, peaceful lake compared to the rest, oxlease pukka lake lots more pegs ,little close to each other and a busy busy lake 👍🎣, some special fish in both
Get delks and learn to set them right and away you go. Just don't get the red led ones.
new delks look horrible, would rather have something like the sonik gizmos myself.
Fox mx. Quality for the money. I would have the rx tho if I had the money. Fox all the way.
The fox mini microns with receiver are brilliant. You can set um up in wot ever colour u like .tone too.
Budget around £80-£120
Have the fox micron mxr and had the mini micron before that and think either ones are good.the mini micron never let me down and had them for a year.i upgraded to the mxr and had them out on a session and love them
Any one tried the new wolf bite alarms
Delkim txi plus m8
Check out ebay for them there's usually some going
Bit of twisting needed sometimes when taking it apart I found. It gets easier the more you use it. So long as the joints fit together easily when you’re assembling it you’re good. If they don’t I’d suggest some sandpaper. I never had to do that.
They loosen up after a couple of times using it, also if you pick a bit of soil on them but soon clears after they’ve been in the water
Try some KY Jelly, it's what I use if my pole is difficult to get in or out 🤣
rub some pencil graphite on the male sections
I use dishwashing liquid
Little rub with very fine Emery on the male ends should help, and try and keep them dirt free if you can 👍🏻
Pencil will do the job and not wear your joints out. You don't want them sloppy after only 1 season of use. 👍
Make sure the pole is flat if there's any bend they will be tight. I use mine up to 75 meters

Think the golf course is a free and anyone can fish them. Badgers rake lane looks like someone's garden there's a syndicate over the road from it tho the duckery I was in it years ago but heard there was a fish kill unsure stocks etc now tho
Golf course is a pile of wank well been run down.by every one an lucky to get a 12lb mabey 13lb tops
Well if they didn’t know then they will now 😂😂😂
Never understood why people ask for information on free lakes.. just brings unwanted attention to them
Had a 40 last week get down there fast
Full of crocodiles
Golf course is free, badgers rake in a.old trout pool from the 80,s/90,s never really got going water level kept dropping, it's now part of the houses which were the old slaughter house. Private garden
It’s a shit hole that golf course rubbish everywhere whoever’s fished it over the years ya should be ashamed of ya selves
Theres NO fish in them👍 ...................... Ive ate them ALL😂😂😂😂😂
Funny ,I took the Mrs last weekend for the first time . My god the flap for the net when I caught a 10 ish lb mirror was hilarious to watch 🤣🤣 .did remind me of my early catches and that feeling that hooked me line and sinker... Hopefully it will her too ❤️

It's 8lb diameter 0.28mm but 6.45kg breaking strain it's good line in my opinion.
It’s not wot ya need pal .. send back 🕺🏼...GR 60 is the only line ya ever need 👍🏻
Scott Cain this what you had
If it’s 8lb line it will be fairly thin where as 14 is a little thicker
Go by the diameter a good quality line at 0.28 will break around 12/13lb
Berkeley connect CM90. Very good line. Been using it myself for past few years.
Check out the tackle box line test. 1 of the best lines on the market 👌
Just test using some scales and see it breaks at its so simple to do
I think it's only 8lb .as the 16lb is 0.40 . 1 of the best lines out there
According to the site its correct, stick with it. Its the best line I've used 👍 edit; just noticed it has different breaking strains, who knows 🤷♂️ if in doubt go by diameter
I got the connect+ 15 0,38 good line bro
Here’s mine 12lb
Not an exact science but rough work out on diameter for you
0.28 is 8lbs
Been using CM90 for last couple of years and can't fault it
6.4 kg breaking strain. Bloody good line
It's saying the breaking strain is 6.4kg (14lb) but the diameter is equivalent to 8lb, I think 🤔 confusing label design from Berkley to be fair!
Best line ever. 8lb breaks at 14lb. We tested 18lb and snapped at 26lb on scales.
Did it cost 8 pounds? 😁
Far to thin for carp fishing mate, 0.28mm is about 8lb line
Get your scales out and test it yourself
Landed 90lb carps on 8oz line, carps fishering completed it mate
It may low in mm however have good strength, I am using katran 0.30 and it’s 15lb low memory really soft long distance casting line. If your lakes is weedy with snags and you cannot use shock Leader the i would definitely go for something around 0,35-0,40 as last thing you won’t is to loose whatever you have hooked

Mini digger big rake strong rope tie the rope around the track put the blade down and bucket so u lift track off the floor and track the track backwards so it winds the rope onto the track job done ✔
The only way to get rid of it is to dig it out then put the dye in your waters personally I hate weed in lakes not because of finding clear spots but always getting it off your lead and hook
Another 114 hours 😂😂
U can get a die wat blocks sun light it's all float to the top u just pull it out
fisheries put dye in stops it growing I believe
Hi guys try Chris at wellingborough lakes, he runs a water dye company and uses it on his lakes I fish his lakes and have seen it used on very weedy waters, need to start using the dye during winter.
1000 grass carp
Aquatic Solutions UK
Mini digger and dumper
There's a dye ya can get for weed
I always rake the locals it takes time an constancy I just keep a few clear spots to fish an fish an bait the same spots as doing the lake would take weeks and by the time you finished it be growing back unless you kill the weed with proper stuff but it’s expensive
Long 10ml cable big loop drag it in
Got rid of the huge pile of mags I'd acquired over the years so can't remember the firm's name, but mechanical removal is very efficient and quick, plus no chemicals in the water. Do a little research on the web, shouldn't take long to find them......
I wouldn't go down the dye route Farnham Angling has gone down that route and lost a lot of fish on all their waters.
Take the head off the rake tie it to some rope and throw it out and drag it back in
Used this method during the summer months to make swims fishable
Don’t do the whole lake as it’s apart of the habitat might cause other issues for you
